Utica development started in 2010-2011. Utica liquids-rich gas production comes from Eastern Ohio and Southwest Pennsylvania. Utica Pennsylvania-North gas production is currently limited, but production growth is expected to initiate after 2021.
Utica production is forecast to reach 8.3 Bcf/d in 2027, which is up substantially from 7.5 Bcf/d in 2020. Average first year decline in 2020 was 66%.
Utica Gas Well Initial Productivity
The average new well initial productivity in 2020 was 20 MMcf/d and is expected to increase to 21 MMcf/d in 2026.
Utica Well Count
Approximately 2900 wells have been drilled since 2006.
Utica Gas EUR
The Estimated Ultimate Recovery (EUR) has increased from about 4 Bcf/well in 2010 to over 23 Bcf/well by 2022.
