Blue hydrogen is created when using natural gas via steam methane reforming (SMR), combined with carbon capture and storage (CCS), as carbon emissions are released from methane CH4 molecules during the SMR process.
Grey Hydrogen is hydrogen created via SMR with carbon released into the atmosphere.
