This chart shows the number of registered electric vehicles in North America by region (in millions) through 2030. In total, the number of electric vehicles registered in North America grows from about 2.5 million in 2020 to almost 33 million in 2030. The US West is expected to show the most growth reaching over 17 million by 2030 and accounting for over half of the total North American market. The US Southwest and US Southeast reach 4.1 and 3.6 million, respectively, while the remaining regions of the US Northeast, Midwest and Canada each have about 2.5 million.
