Canadian propane exports, by month, into the US by PADD (Petroleum Administration for Defense Districts) and to other markets via BC.
The annual average propane exports have increased from about 80 MBbl/d in 2010 to over 200 MBbl/d by 2021.
PADD 2 accounted for about 50% of the total propane exports in 2010 followed by PADD 1 at about 30%, PADD 5 at 15% and PADD 4 at 5%. There were no exports to PADD 3 or from BC to other markets.
For 2021 thru Q1 2022, BC accounted for the largest share of propane exports at 34% of the total (after only beginning to export in Q1 2017). as BC exports were destined to higher priced Asian markets. BC was followed by PADD 2 at 22%, PADD 5 at 20%, and PADD 1 at 18%. PADDS 3 and 4 accounted for 3% each.
