Global additions increase from about 80 GW in 2022 to almost 160 GW in 2030. It is expected that this will be enough to cover increasing global demand however, some regions will face capacity issues in coming years.
North American Wind Capacity Additions
North America accounted for 12% (10 GW) of the 80 GW total in 2022 and is forecast to represent about 15% of the 160 GW total in 2030.
Europe Wind Capacity Additions
Europe accounted for 25% (19 GW) of the 80 GW total in 2022 and is forecast to represent about 23% of the 160 GW total in 2030.
China Wind Capacity Additions
China accounted for 40% (35 GW) of the 80 GW total in 2022 and is forecast to represent about 50% of the 160 GW total in 2030.
