Power Generation by Country 2021-2022

Total nuclear power generation in 2022  was similar to 2021 at about 2600 TWh.

Although China increased its production from 380 to 490 TWh, this was offset by similar declines in in the Ukraine and France (due to lower availability as many reactors were offline for maintenance (stress corrosion affecting circuits)).

All other regions remained relatively unchanged.

2022 Market Share of Nuclear Power Generation

In 2022, the main users of nuclear power generation were:

  • US at 29%
  • China at 19%
  • France at 11%.
